Renewal season arrives and the secretariat issues the same certificate several thousand times. An employer calls to ask whether a practitioner is licensed and in good standing; someone checks a spreadsheet. A suspended member’s certificate looks exactly like a current one, because paper cannot express suspension.

Who authorises, and how
The Council Secretary authorises with a personal signing PIN, in batches when the renewal cycle demands it. Every authorisation is attributed and recorded, and processing is a separate permission from authorising.
Correction, revocation, re-issuance
This is where expiry and revocation earn their keep. A licence carries a validity date, so a lapsed one returns EXPIRED rather than passing as current; a suspended member’s certificate can be revoked outright, and the code says so the moment anyone checks.
Verification, from their side
Employers, hospitals, regulators and courts verify a member’s standing from the code, under the council’s own name. Verifiers checking at volume can be registered for API access and charged for it.
Scale and structure
Chapters and zonal offices run as branches under one council, each with its own numbering sequence and staff.
