REC-000318verification
A document that proves itself.
Verification does not depend on your office being open, reachable, or willing to answer the phone. The code printed on the document is enough.
Document verified
This document is authentic and has not been altered since issuance.
- Record number
- REC-000318
- Document number
- DOC-000318
- Title
- Certified True Copy
- Recipient
- Amina Yusuf
- Institution
- Kano State High Court
- Issued
- 4 August 2026
Five answers, and the differences between them matter.
- Valid
- The document was issued by the institution and has not been altered since. The verifier sees what the institution chose to expose — not the whole record.
- Revoked
- The issuer withdrew it. If a corrected version was issued in its place, the response names that document number, so the holder knows what to ask for.
- Expired
- Genuine, but past the validity date the institution set. This is what makes a lapsed practising licence fail honestly instead of passing as current.
- Not found
- No document with this code was ever issued. Different from invalid, and the difference matters when someone is holding a forgery.
- Invalid
- The code resolves but the document does not stand.
The re-issued document problem.
A certificate gets corrected — a misspelled name, an amended grade, a changed date. The institution issues an amendment, and now two versions exist in the world. Paper cannot express that. A plain "revoked" barely can.
This is what a verifier actually sees when they scan the superseded code:

Superseded by DOC-000412 — ask the holder for the current issuance.
Two ways in, deliberately different.
The public endpoint is for a person holding a document. It is rate-limited per source and returns only what a verifier needs to know.
The API is for organisations that check at volume — banks, employers, embassies. It carries a higher allowance set by your plan, and institutions on Professional and Enterprise plans can charge for it, set bulk tiers, and keep the revenue.
What the verifier sees
Your institution's name, on your own domain if you want one. Registration, approval and pricing are yours. From their side they are dealing with you, not with us.
